Feb 18, 2022 · FN (thus far) hasn't redesigned the parts with the intention of woking with 6.5. This could mean anything from FN is a bunch of assholes and doesn't care about it's customers to the issue is so rare it's better to just deal with them on a case by case basis. FN recommends Hornady 147 eldm the same way KAC recommends FGMM or M118LR in their SR-25.

Sep 12, 2019 · If I could only have one I'd choose the 17s over the 20s. May only be slightly longer, but the weight is quite a bit and the 17s has been a proven performer and you can get the 20" barrel assembly if you really need 20", not to mention if you live in a state that allows a SBR you can also get the 13" barrel.

Mar 10, 2019 · The 17 comes with a 1.5mm and the 20 comes with a 1.4mm. The size difference comes from the longer barrel having more dwell time. I’ve run the 20 as low as a 1.15mm and it cycles fine thus far. Can is a Silencerco Omega and I run 7.62 milsurp through the 17 and GMM through the 20. Jun 24, 2020 · Naturally I would want that to have optimum reliability and reduce wear and tear from back pressure. I couldn't find any available so I called FN tech support for a recommended muzzle device and suppressor. Answer I got was that FN doesn't recommend suppressors for the 16S, 17S, or the 20S and that it voids warranty.

Jan 18, 2021 · Hi all. I got my SCAR 20S and it has a 1:12 twist rate barrel. Being new to PR shooting would like to know; What are the PROS & CONS of each one of them? Which twist rate is better? Would you consider a swap? Thanks!

Aug 15, 2019 · The 20S DOES come with a heavy profile 20" barrel in both 6.5 Creedmoor or .308/7.62. If you look around you can still find a 20" FN barrel in .308/7.62 for your 17S for +/-$1K. While it has the "pencil" profile of the stock 16" FN barrel that comes on the rifle, if you can do your part you'll have a 17S that's close in accuracy to the 20S.

Mar 2, 2024 · First, if you want a 20 inch you want the 20s or whatever they are calling it now. 6.5 is ok. Make sure you get a small firing pin model. Get the Scarburetor gas plug to be able to better adjust the gas. Don't tell FN you ran it suppressed if you ever need warranty support. They are incredibly reliable rifles and very accurate.
