Jul 29, 2017 · The recommended solution it is to reinstall windows 10 from memory stick, but when the system asks to supply certain driver for DVD - you do not have it!- then you should put out and put in again the memory stick simply, either changing stick from USB-3 to USB-2 connector and then the diabolic issue with DVD will be sorted.

Sep 12, 2021 · Tried cleaning - no difference. Still can't read DVD-RAM - everything else but not DVD-RAM on either the old drive or the replacement. It's got to be a software issue. Can't find a driver for a IHAS-122F by Lite-On. Possibly I could put a distro like Mint on a flash drive and try to recover the most important files that way.

Sep 29, 2023 · At the moment, the Bios doesn't see the DVD on either spare SATA port, but the DVD spins-up and attempts to read the CD regardless. I have also re-upgraded to Dell Bios A25 Originally, I could occasionally see the DVD on a SATA port and it would show up briefly under "Hidden Device" in Device Manager.

Jan 29, 2016 · As a last ditch effort I did a clean install of Win10 and the old drive was recognized by Win10 and runs fine and is still called TSSTcorp DDDVDW SN-208FB . Believe the issue was a conflict between Toshiba’s DVD-RAM software that was dragged along with the Win10 upgrade and Win10 device management. If all else fails try a clean install.

Dec 10, 2015 · Thanks, but I tried the Hitachi site already. The only information I could find there was a claim that they make DVD drives. Nothing useful whatsoever. Anyway, like I said, Nero told me what I needed to know about the drive, so now I just need to find appropriate software.
