Mar 3, 2023 · 32GB is plenty for gaming. 64 is overkill unless you're running VMs or other highly RAM-heavy tasks, and those use-cases generally require more than 64GB. Corsair is a great non-budget option, my budget choice is Mushkin.

Jan 3, 2022 · Ram is cheap now. Silicon is scarce. 32GB DDR4 is a 100$ and I would just go for it. I have been building computers and a hardware enthusiast for now 20 years, and more ram if its within budget is usually a no brainer. Even if software today doesn't take advantage of it, software tomorrow will.

Sep 1, 2023 · Slime games I can think of are Rust (untested but I have a sneaking suspicion), and most importantly Escape from Tarkov. EFT is basically unplayable on certain maps unless you have 32gb of RAM. My general recommendation is 16 for absolute lowest, maaaybe 8 if you only play games 10 years or older, and anything mid-range or higher should get 32GB

Dec 17, 2021 · Both AMD and Intel have a "flex" RAM mode for mismatched DIMM sizes. You would get dual channel performance on the first 8GB of the 32GB stick (together with the 8GB DIMM), and single channel performance on the other 24GB.

Jan 13, 2024 · That's how an 8GB PC might only idle at like 3-4GB RAM and a PC with 32GB might idle at like 6GB RAM. Also Windows keeps things in the cache, so that things load faster even if it doesn't show up as "in use". If you're getting close to 16GB, Windows will be starting to optimize and force things to use less RAM to not fill it up.
