Up to eight inches of snow could fall in parts of the UK this week as cold weather descends across the country. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning that covers much of southern Scotland and north-east England, parts of Yorkshire, and parts of the north-west of England, including Lancashire and Cumbria.
