A powerful winter storm is set to blast portions of the U.S. with heavy snow, cold temperatures, strong winds and rain just as millions of people across the country prepare to travel for Thanksgiving.

Multiple winter storm warnings have been issued across five different states, with some advising people avoid travel. Different parts of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana are under winter storm warnings with heavy snow expected across all these states.
