The Veilguard has an excellent cast of characters, almost all of which are new to the series. However, it looks like there were once plans for a few characters from previous games to appear as party members.

It’s exactly what you would expect from a world-ending villain, and I found myself bored after the second encounter or so. Elgar’nan in particular is a disappointment. Ghilan’nain is able to lean on her brilliant visual design and army of monsters;

The Veilguard points to the game taking influence from an unlikely source in how the spaces are laid out and traversed.
