Australian senators have voted to censure an Indigenous colleague who yelled at King Charles III during a reception in Parliament House last month

SYDNEY - Australia's Senate on Monday censured an Indigenous woman parliamentarian over her protest against King Charles during his visit to the parliament last month when she accused the British monarch of genocide.

The Senate has passed the censure motion against Lidia Thorpe. The motion received 46 yes and 12 no votes, passing easily. The Senate is now moving on to the proposed censure against Ralph Babet, for a tweet he made last week.
