The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the ODI Men’s Player of the Year award as part of the ICC Awards, with Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai receiving the honor.

Azmatullah Omarzai, Afghanistan's dynamic all-rounder, was named ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year 2024. Excelling with both bat and ball, he emerged as a key performer in ODIs, leading Afghanistan to four series victories.

India opener Smriti Mandhana was crowned ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year 2024, amassing 747 runs in just 13 innings. The India vice-captain averaged 57.86 with a strike rate of 95.15, scoring four centuries to set a new career high in ODIs.

Rounding off Monday’s announcements was the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, won by Afghanistan’s talented all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, who capped a thrilling year with 417 runs at an average of 52.12, and 17 wickets at 20.47.

On the women's side, Smriti Mandhana was awarded the ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, her second such honor after her initial win in 2018. At 28, Mandhana has had a stellar year, scoring 747 runs in 13 matches with an average of 57.86 and a strike rate of 95.15.

Smriti Mandhana was India's standout performer in ODIs in 2024. Hence, it is no surprise that she has been adjudged ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year.
