O’Connor Scores Game-Winner, Canucks Beat Sharks 2-1
The Vancouver Canucks beat the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in overtime on a penalty shot goal from forward Drew O’Connor. O’Connor has been with the team for less than a week, but he scored the second penalty shot winner in franchise history (the first was Ben Hutton).
Canucks 2, Sharks 1 (OT): Miserable wins are still wins
Demko was outstanding when called upon, with a couple standout goalmouth stands against a flurry of Sharks shots. And he almost had a second consecutive shutout. Instead it was Drew O’Connor playing hero, in J.T. Miller fashion, scoring on an overtime penalty shot. A win is a win, and the Canucks are 5-1-1 in their last seven, but what ugly hockey.
