Following Shores, Texas right-handed transfer Grant Fontenot threw a scoreless sixth inning after striking out two batters. Sunday was Fontenot's return to LSU after he spent the 2022 season as a redshirt freshman.

However, with a high temperature of just 23 degrees and a slight chance of snow forecasted for Wednesday, the contest against Purdue University Fort Wayne is canceled, according to an Indiana Athletics release. The matchup is currently not set to be rescheduled to a later date.
