Wausau voters may now use the clerk’s office drop box to drop off absentee ballots after its return Monday following its removal by Mayor Doug Diny.

Wausau's ballot drop box returned to outside City Hall Monday morning after a weeklong standoff between the city clerk and Mayor Doug Diny after he moved the drop box into his office just as absentee ballots were being sent out.

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau’s payment, document, and ballot dropbox has returned outside City Hall. In a press release, City Clerk Kaitlyn Bernarde says the box has been secured to the ground “in accordance with guidelines from the Wisconsin Elections Commission and the United States Election Assistance Commission.”
