Ford has announced a recall of several hundred thousand vehicles due to an issue stemming from faulty batteries.
Under the rule, all vehicles traveling up to 45 miles per hour must apply brakes automatically when a pedestrian is detected.
The batteries were made in China under the Camel Battery brand and were used between February 5, 2020, and Oct. 20, 2022.

BANGKOK (AP) — Ford Motor Co. is recalling 272,827 Broncos and Mavericks due to a power problem that can cause vehicles to stop unexpectedly or fail to start.
The latest Ford recall covers certain Bronco and Maverick models that may be affected by sudden battery failure.
A manufacturing defect in the vehicles' 12-volt batteries can cause them to stall at low speeds, or not restart after stopping. The automaker will fix the flaw for free.
