L.A. County D.A. Nathan Hochman announcement that he opposes a new trial for Menendez brothers but left the door open to a resentencing hearing

The Menendez Brothers case is moving forward ... and, the Los Angeles County District Attorney is set to give an update on the case in just a few minutes.

Erik Menendez, who is 54 years old, has said that he and his brother Lyle, 57, have experienced severe “trauma” while serving time in prison for the murder of their parents. In an interview with TMZ’s podcast 2 Angry Men,

The Menendez brothers are serving sentences of life in prison without parole. Last October, amid a flurry of renewed attention to the high-profile case, D.A. George Gascón said he would ask a court to lower their sentences to 50 years to life, which would make them eligible for parole.

Erik and Lyle Menendez are both serving life-without-parole prison terms for their convictions in the highly publicized case.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman has announced his opposition to the petition to vacate the conviction of the Menendez brothers. Hochman claimed that new evidence presented by the convicted brothers "could be part of a continuum of lies.
