He is a handwriting heavyweight in a national handwriting contest with thousand of kids competing from across America.

A script reading was part of an event for the project that celebrated the "little wins" in the lives of young people in and from care, ahead of Children and Youth in Care Day on May 14.

Rogers' children's book Chooch Helped, illustrated by Rebecca Lee Kunz and published by Levine Querido, has won the 2025 Randolph Caldecott Medal for Distinguished Illustrative Excellence.
