Krewe du Vieux is set to roll through New Orleans at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Unfortunately, equally nasty weather could also plow through the city at around the same time. Luckily, the NWS has a new site to help you determine your best course of action.

The National Weather Service forecasts that snow could begin falling in the morning before changing over to rain as the temperature climbs into the mid 30s in the afternoon. Forecasters expect an accumulation of about an inch of snow before it becomes a slushy mess.

"How much snow is actually on the ground by the time the event ends is still kind of a big question mark, since there could be some melting as we change over from snow to rain on Saturday night to Sunday morning," said Robert Megnia, a NWS meteorologist.
