A shift in Tropical Depression 19's track has significantly impacted meteorologists' predictions about its potential to form into Hurricane Sara.

With atmospheric steering currents in near total collapse, Sara has been essentially adrift while streaming a constant river of tropical moisture into the vulnerable countrysides with over 30 inches of rain so far in some areas.

After producing feet of rain over countries in Central America, moisture associated with the remnants of Sara are expected to stream northward, increasing the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms mid-week along the Gulf Coast.
