To honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., one local organization is raising money to install a statue in his honor.

Paterson residents will celebrate the 96th birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday with a special ceremony at the city’s newly unveiled statue honoring the civil rights leader.

The program was initially set to begin at the MLK Statue at Peace Maker Square at 5:30 p.m., but due to weather, it will now start at 6:00 p.m., and there will be no march.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Liberty University held a special event Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Junior. Students and faculty gathered to celebrate his impact and promote unity and service.

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s teachings, service, civil rights activities and his commitment to social justice, many events are scheduled in Milwaukee and the surrounding communities.
