The Stearns County Board of Commissioners moved to enter the design development phase for the Stearns County’s new justice center at a meeting Tuesday, saying the project may move near Waite Park.

A Stearns County commissioner requested public updates on the justice center project to shed light on behind-the-scenes conversations.

Under the plan, the county would tear down the court facility, along with the law enforcement center in downtown St. Cloud, and build the new justice center on the outskirts of town.
