Just like my visit to Lapland in 2000, the reindeer ride was my favourite part ... darkness and silence of the Finnish forest before the sleigh pulls onto a large frozen lake.

Lapland covers a vast area of northern Finland ... Once on the ground, guests embark on a wintry whirlwind of sleigh rides, reindeer-petting excursions, ice sculpture crafting and tobogganing.
