Isak has been managing a groin issue which he picked up against Brentford, while Gordon suffered a bruised hip on international duty.

Alexander Isak is set to be available for Newcastle United’s Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday, while a ‘late call’ will be made over Anthony Gordon’s injury. Isak has been playing with a groin problem and was brought off early in Newcastle’s wins against Brentford and Leicester City this month.

Eddie Howe's side followed up their success at Wembley Stadium with a 2-1 win over Brentford on Wednesday but questions were asked after the full-time whistle, with Alexander Isak substituted after 66 minutes with what looked to be an injury.
