Lakers beat reporter and insider Jovan Buha was not quite ready to commit to saying that James would certainly be back, but he did update the injury and say he's "more optimisitic" about the possibility. Buha also said that forward Rui Hachimura is more likely to return.

Both players were upgraded to questionable for Saturday night’s home game. James (groin) has missed the past seven games and Hachimura (patellar tendinopathy) has missed 10 straight.
