BOSTON — Massachusetts property owners now have a right to build accessory dwelling units or so-called in-law apartments in single-family zoning districts across most of the state, under a law Gov.
This means property owners can add the smaller, secondary homes, sometimes known as “granny flats” or “in-law apartments,” without having to seek a special permit or other zoning relief.
