HALL COUNTY, GA — The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Hall County Friday night.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed that the storm Friday evening in Hall County contained an EF1 tornado.
It's unclear at this point whether the funnel cloud was a tornado or remained over the lake as a waterspout, but damage has been reported in the area.
The tornado was on the ground for nine minutes, mostly over water, but touched down in some coves and islands near the lake with peak winds at 90 miles per hour.
The tornado developed over Lake Lanier and reached maximum sustained winds of 90 mph, but it did not damage any structures when it touched down in Hall County ...
