Jefferson Lab hosted its 24th annual high school science bowl on Saturday. The bowl prepares Virginia high schools for the national Department of Energy competition.
Forty-two teams of middle and high school students from 33 schools demonstrated their science and engineering talents by designing robots, building vehicles and performing chemistry experiments.
They were the only points of the game for the reserve junior point guard, but they were the most important. Teammate Kenny Daly had 17 points.
