The difference in the outcome this year just might be Philadelphia’s addition of 2,000-yard rusher Saquon Barkley. Barkley has turned the Eagles’ run game from a concern for the opposition through the last decade to a downright fear. Fear that Barkley can score from anywhere. Fear that Barkley can shift momentum at any time.
Coming out of halftime, the Eagles were down 24-7. On the first play from scrimmage, Saquon had a beautiful 59-yard run that brought the offense to the Buccaneers’ 11-yard line. He came out of the game after that play and let Kenny Gainwell finish the drive.
Verse ran his mouth last week, saying how much he hates Eagles fans. That stems from the way the Philadelphia faithful showed up to the Eagles-Rams game out West back in November. Hey, pal.
