Israel criticized a plan put forward by Arab states for Gaza's reconstruction on Tuesday, while Palestinian militant group Hamas welcomed it.

The group accused Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to back out of the ceasefire agreement they reached in January. The agreement calls for negotiations over a second phase in which the hostages would be released in exchange for more Palestinian prisoners, a permanent ceasefire and an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza.

Hamas said on Thursday that U.S. President Donald Trump's repeated threats against Palestinians constituted support for Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to back out of the Gaza ceasefire and intensify the siege of Gazans.

A delegation from the Palestinian militant group Hamas arrived in Cairo on Friday to discuss the Gaza ceasefire agreement and push negotiations aimed at entering the second phase of the deal, the Egyptian information authority said in a statement.

Hamas welcomed on Tuesday Egypt's Gaza re-construction plan and called for providing means for its success, following an emergency summit in Cairo where Arab states adopted the Egyptian proposal.
