The Atlanta Falcons are doing their due diligence to find their next defensive coordinator. Following the conclusion of the regular season, the Falcons decided to move on from first-year defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake.

The Atlanta Falcons scheduled another interview for their vacant defensive coordinator spot, meeting with veteran Steve Wilks.

Lake had never been a defensive coordinator or a defensive playcaller prior to 2024. It's likely that the Falcons bring in someone with more experience doing that job this offseason. Former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo will also be interviewed, per an NFL Network report.

Anarumo spent the last six years as the defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals but was let go following the 2024 season. This is the first reported interview the Falcons have scheduled since firing Jimmy Lake over the weekend.
