Former Sun Country Airlines executive David Davis has been hired as the new president and chief executive officer of Dania Beach-based Spirit Airlines, whose previous CEO Ted Christie stepped down

The appointment, effective April 21, comes just more than a week after former CEO Ted Christie stepped down as part of a shakeup.
