Dozens of monkeys are on the loose in Yemassee, SC. This isn’t the first time primates escaped from the facility.

More than half of the monkeys bred for medical research that escaped from a compound in SC have been recovered unharmed.

One monkey has been captured after 43 monkeys escaped from the Alpha Genesis research facility in South Carolina, the Yemassee Police Department said.

Three more monkeys have been recovered in Yemassee and are reported to be in good health. According to the Yemassee Police Department, the monkeys were found around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This latest recovery brings the total number returned to 35.
