Cheltenham Festival: Marine Nationale defeats Jonbon in Queen Mother Champion Chase showdown at Cheltenham
There was hardly a dry eye at Prestbury Park when Marine Nationale roared up the Cheltenham hill to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase. The horse, first made famous by the late Michael OSullivan, beat hot favourite Jonbon to take the big prize at Prestbury Park.

On a remarkable opening day, 25/1 runner Golden Ace stormed to victory in the Champion Hurdle after both Constitution Hill and State Man fell. There were more shocks on Wednesday as Ballyburn was stunned in the Novices’ Hurdle, with 20/1 Lecky Watson storming through to claim the win.
