Blame the early ballots that get dropped off on Election Day at the polls. Stir in increasingly competitive contests, and it adds up to days' worth of waiting for a definitive result. Maricopa County estimated vote counting would run 10-13 days before every ballot is counted.

Although the presidential race is declared, voters in the Grand Canyon State still have a pressing question – why do we still not have all of the Election Day results?

So far, more than 2.45 million Arizona ballots have been counted, with the Secretary of State's Office estimating about 1 million more to go.
