Toyota's truckmaking unit had agreed to a merger with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus in 2023 but had to indefinitely postpone the deal while it dealt with the legal issue, Nikkei Asia reported.
Hino, a Toyota Motor unit, reached a basic agreement in May 2023 to merge with Mitsubishi Fuso. But the deal was postponed indefinitely as Hino faced a protracted scandal over falsified engine data.
