We're at the Lionsgate Panel at CinemaCon Las Vegas, and we just got a first look at the new Hunger Games movie, Sunrise on the Reaping. During the event, director Francis Lawrence, who has also directed every movie out of the franchise (except for the first one) shared with the audience what's going on with one of the most exciting upcoming book adaptations.

In the very first chapter, you’re introduced to two of Haymitch’s friends from District 12: Burdock and Asterid. They don’t play huge roles in the story of the book but die-hard Hunger Games fans will likely piece together that they are the eventual parents of Katniss Everdeen.

Along with the introduction of Lenore Dove and other newbies, a crop of familiar names featured in the original franchise also appear in Haymitch’s prequel story. With Lionsgate set to release the movie adaptation on Nov. 20, 2026, below are all of the beloved Hunger Games characters who could appear in the movie.
