The National Park Service has removed references to transgender and queer people on its web page for the Stonewall National Monument, which marks the site of the New York City inn where LGBTQ rioters – including now-legendary transgender activists – galvanized a movement for LGBTQ rights.

Outraged LGBTQ+ activists and community members are set to gather at Christopher Park in the West Village on February 14, 2025, at 12 noon for a Valentine’s Day protest against the Trump administration’s recent removal of transgender and queer references from the Stonewall National Monument website.

The New York City monument is based in a tiny park across the street from the Stonewall Inn, a bar that became ground zero for the gay rights movement.
