The U.S. Space Force added Stoke Space and Rocket Lab USA to the list of providers for a $5.6 billion round of national security launches.

Rocket Lab shares climbed Friday after the U.S. Space Force selected the space rocket company to join its $5.6 billion National Security Space Launch program.

Rocket Lab USA secures eligibility for the U.S. Space Force's NSSL Phase 3 Lane 1, a $5.6 billion initiative. The company plans to deploy its Neutron rocket, a reusable medium-lift vehicle, for critical national security launches.
