The American Red Cross Northern Ohio Chapter is asking for diverse blood donations. Certain blood types are unique to specific racial and ethnic groups. This means donor diversity must match patient diversity.

After January's winter weather canceled multiple blood drives, the American Red Cross is urging donors to give this February.

The American Red Cross says since January hundreds of blood drives have been canceled due to severe weather or wildfires. Due to these cancelations the American Red Cross has missed out in nearly 16,000 blood donations.

Although 2025 just began, the American Red Cross says blood donations have already decreased “This look is all about American exceptionalism,” she said of her pro-Trump ensemble on the Grammys red carpet.

The American Red Cross of North Central Wisconsin says about 15,000 blood platelets went uncollected last month because of the wildfires in California and some severe winter weather.

People of all blood types – especially those with type O negative blood – are encouraged to make and keep their donation appointments.
