The 2025 offseason has been anything but rosy for Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints. First the quarterback reportedly sought a trade while anticipating the team would pursue his successor. Then reports indicated he might sit out the entire 2025 season due to a previously undisclosed shoulder injury.

According to Ian Rapoport, the Saints are not expected to have clarity about QB Derek Carr and his status for 2025 before the draft tonight. Rapoport said the parties involved had hoped to have that.

Derek Carr may not remain the starting quarterback for the New Orleans Saints much longer, as the NFC South team has reportedly identified the signal-caller who will replace him.
