A major road has closed in the North East after a crash involving several police cars and at least two other vehicles. The A1 closed last night after a serious crash thought to involve at least three police cars.

A crash was reported on Farrington Highway near Helelua Street at around 8:40 a.m. involving multiple vehicles and patients.

Police in Alderney have said two car thefts on Friday night and a crash at the harbour in the early hours of Saturday, were linked.
