KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Zoo Knoxville has welcomed a new 10-year-old Malayan tiger who they say is considered one of the most “genetically valuable” Malayan tigers in the world.

Cinta is a 9-year-old male born in California. There are only 100 to 250 Malayan tigers in the wild, making it a critically endangered species.

Zoo Knoxville said Jango, a valuable 10-year-old Malayan tiger, was moved to East Tennessee to support species survival.
