Shohei Ohtani strolled out to the outfield grass at Nationals Park on an abnormally brisk April afternoon. In his wake strode a small army of Los Angeles Dodgers coaches and staff. Ohtani, who two days prior had gone 3-for-4 with a home run and a triple, picked up a ball and began to throw.

Recently, manager Dave Roberts got 100% real on where Ohtani is in the rehabilitation process from the elbow injury that's kept him from being able to pitch.

The Los Angeles Dodgers' two-way star is only throwing fastballs in his bullpen sessions right now, but it's all part of a plan to have him ready when the Dodgers really need his arm.
