Fire districts in upper Kittitas County are considering a merger to improve efficiency and resources for emergency response.

Chris Moen has replaced Rich Elliott as deputy chief of Kittitas Valley Fire & Rescue. Before his retirement, former Chief John Sinclair hired Moen at the beginning of December.
