IDAHO FALLS – An avalanche warning is in effect for mountain areas near Island Park and West Yellowstone. The National Weather Service in Pocatello issued the warning just before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Yellowstone National Park's nearly 3,500 square miles seep slightly across state borders into Montana and Idaho, but its major attractions are contained in the northwest corner of Wyoming.
