The National Park Service has reversed edits and restored content to its webpage about Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad in the wake of news reports and public backlash over the changes.
The changes were made "without approval from the agency nor department leadership," the NPS said in a statement.
Based on the 1964 novel of the same name by Louise Fitzhugh, the film follows Harriet M. Welsch (Trachtenberg), a sixth-grade student in New York City who aspires to become a writer and spy.
