The New York Mets are at home on Monday night as they are facing off against the Philadelphia Phillies in a National League East showdown. It has been a great season thus far for the Mets as they entered Monday’s series opener with a 15-7 record,

José Ruiz got Tyrone Taylor to hit into a fielder’s choice before Lindor hit a 95 mph fastball over the center field fence, giving the Mets a 5-0 lead. Max Kranick returned to the mound for the ninth — his third inning of work — but allowed three straight hits before Edwin Díaz was summoned for the save.

It was a milestone home run. Not only was it his first walk-off homer with the Mets, but he became the 19th active player to hit at least 250 home runs. For Lindor, the win made the night meaningful. It was a team win from start to finish and he just happened to come through in his last at-bat.
