Publix sold a Powerball ticket worth $1 million in the March 24 drawing, exactly one month after a winning ticket was drawn Feb. 24.
A single ticket recently sold at the convenience store matches all 5 numbers and the Powerball from Saturday’s drawing, the California Lottery announced.
Participating in the lottery also helps support public education in California. Rocklin Mini Mart also net $28,500 for selling the ticket. The Powerball pot continues to grow after Wednesday's drawing and now stands at an estimated $515 million. The next drawing is on Saturday.
The player in California won the $526.5 million Powerball jackpot on Saturday. Nearly 12,000 tickets sold in Connecticut won cash prizes.
