Former Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy does not plan to coach this year. The New Orleans Saints are the only team still looking to hire a head coach, with six other franchises previously filling their vacancies.

Weeks after being unable to come to a contract agreement with the Cowboys, Mike McCarthy has decided he will not coach in the NFL in 2025 and will instead focus on the 2026 hiring cycle, per NFL Network.

McCarthy spent six years in the college ranks before he broke into the NFL in 1993 on Marty Schottenheimer’s Kansas City staff as a quality control coach. He was a quarterback coach for the Chiefs and Green Bay Packers before leaving to become the offensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints in 2000.
