The red x on the battery icon on the Taskbar indicates a problem with your laptop battery. However, sometimes, it can be a glitch resolved by restarting the laptop or restarting the Windows Explorer.
If the battery icon is missing on the Windows 11 Taskbar, the issue may be with the battery driver. Check this in the Device Manager. The battery driver should show under the Batteries branch.
You will see these new battery icons on the taskbar in the system tray, in the quick settings flyout, and in Settings. The new battery icons will begin showing on the Lock screen in a future flight.
