Philadelphia 76ers trade pickup Quentin Grimes has surpassed Paul George in the team's loss against the Hawks.

Quentin Grimes scoring 30 points in a game was news in itself. The Sixers' newcomer had only done so twice in three-plus years as an NBA player when he arrived in Philadelphia, but there he was on Feb.

The Philadelphia 76ers paid a visit to the Toronto Raptors up in Canada on Wednesday night looking to get back in the win column. The Sixers fell short to the Atlanta Hawks to begin this quick 2-game road trip and were looking for a bounce back effort.

The 76ers will tell you that their moves at the NBA trade deadline and beyond were about getting younger and more athletic. But they also were about getting up-close looks at potential role players for the future.

The Philadelphia 76ers fell 132-123 on Monday night to the Atlanta Hawks, through no fault of Quentin Grimes, who led the floor with 35 points in the contest.

The Jazz jumped out to a 16-point lead in the first quarter, but the Sixers rallied to take the lead in the second quarter and never looked back. Philadelphia stretched the lead as large as 22 on its way to a 126-122 win to snap the skid and feel good about things again. Quentin Grimes had 25 points and six assists for the Sixers.

The Sixers used every player they had available on Monday night in Atlanta, but they did not have enough to beat a short-handed Hawks team.

Quentin Grimes has been a revelation since joining the Sixers at the trade deadline, but his ascension does present the front office with a few good problems.
