The first day of the trial seeking to stop the merger of two large grocery companies is underway in Colorado, and while the sides for and against the deal argued in court, workers raised their voices outside the courthouse.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - Kroger and Albertsons went to trial on Monday. The stores were taken to court by the state in an effort to block the grocery stores from merging.

Kroger will face off with regulators over its embattled proposed merger with Albertsons – this time against Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser.
