GENOA TWP., MI — A 90-year-old man died Wednesday after falling through the ice while windsurfing on a Livingston County Lake. Emergency responders were called around 2 p.m. March 13 to Lake Chemung in Genoa Township after witnesses reported seeing the fall, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office reported in a release.

Officials are reminding residents to stay off thawing ice after a 90-year-old Howell man fell into a frigid lake in Livingston County this week, leading to his death. The Livingston County Sheriff's Office said witnesses reported the man was windsurfing on Lake Chemung in Genoa Township at about 2 p.m. Wednesday when he fell through the ice.
